Latest data continues to indicate a strong cold front will strike the Houston metro area at 9-10 am Wednesday, and be off the coast by noon. Heavy rainfall is likely for about 30-60 minutes. Dewpoints drop quickly after passage, afternoon highs in the low 70s. Forecast for 10 am:

T-30 hours, or less, until the front arrives. There will be no mistake about this one, either, as a strong line of storms will likely accompany it through Houston.
